Arthur in India?!
Last semester I told my own story of the Legend of King Arthur. This semester I shall expand on it and bring the fabled king to India to share in an adventure with Rama. Still working out the details in my mind on what he's doing there, why, how he got there initially and all of the fun information. However the primary adventure he is going to embark on with Rama is to help Rama find his two sons. In exchange, Rama will help Arthur with his own quest. But what is his quest? Well I have a few weeks to figure that out but I promise to make it interesting.
Another possible quest for the two heroes is to go after the Demon King Ravana! Ravana was not granted immortality, but rather could not be killed by any demons, gods, rakshasa, serpent or spirit. However, King Arthur from my previous story is an interesting being, and I think he might be able to fit into the loop hole of those who can kill Ravana. But why would Arthur want to battle against Ravana? Maybe Ravana has found an old cup that Arthur seeks?
While he may not have a lot to do with my story, Ravana's brother Kumbhakarna might have an appearance to help/hinder our heroes on their journey. I'll need to do research and find out the relationship between the two brothers and see if Kumbhakarna would help or hinder our two heroes.
An Idea of how Arthur may have gotten to India is with the help of Shiva. Shiva is in the mythology for India what Zeus is for Greek Mythology. The God of gods. The one in charge, most powerful etc. I think using Shiva as Arthur's transport will make the story interesting because it will help the heroes on their quest by essentially being able to tell all those they encounter that their quest is one with Shiva's blessing. Therefore all those who respect and love Shiva will help the heroes and only those who do evil will truly hinder them.

What a fun idea! Lots of possibilities for culture shock on both sides. Considering the supposed era of Rama was around 5070 BCE, and King Arthur lived between the 5th and 6th century AD, perhaps you could work in a time traveling bit (or stuck in time) with the shrine we read about where Rama meets Shabari in a place frozen in time. The place is described as being in a state of time warp, so it could be an easy way to transfer either character through several thousand years!
